Hi Guys!! So happy to be a part of Kelsi’s blog and share a little bit of my thoughts with y’all as a guest here. A little introduction… My name is Gabi, I live in the sunshine state of Florida, and my biggest passion and hobby in life is TRAVEL, specifically seeing the world and meeting new people. One of my biggest goals is to connect with as many people as I possibly can. So without further adieu, I wanted to share with you my thoughts on the importance of travel and the lifestyle it provides us, giving us the opportunity to grow with one another and in our own personal lives.
At the beginning of 2019 I made a clear mission statement for myself and had a call to action for my followers #theyearofwe was born. What is the year of we?
I spent the majority of 2018 hearing the idea of 2018 being the year of “me”. 2018 was all about self-care, and I think many of us really learned a lot about ourselves and this topic throughout the past year. I saw constant posts and articles on how to care for ourselves and our mental health. I watched everyone around me start the process of becoming more mentally healthy and loving themselves the way they deserved. All that said, as we are mastering our self-care, I think it is a perfect time to take it to the next level; by caring for others. It is time to give the people around us the love we gave ourselves in 2018. So, my proposal is to make 2019 the year for “we”.
That was just an excerpt of my past post on what I wanted The Year of We to be. That is what I set out to do, and now we are over halfway through 2018 and here is an update. Making the year a better year, not just for myself, but everyone that was a part of it along with the new people that in this past year have walked into it was the goal. Through this process it has become so apparent to me that we grow so much more as a team then we would ever individually when we leverage our relationships and boost each other instead of tearing one another down.
I have gotten the opportunity to practice what I have been preaching through all of my travels this year. Greece, Dominican Republic, Grand Turk, new Colorado adventures, and Florida ones too, I have connected with so many people and they have all come into my life and changed it or left it for the better. The other thing I learned through this experience, is although self care is still important… My self care has been easier to maintain when I feel happy and fulfilled. Making others a priority in my life has led to overall better mental health for myself as well. That is not something I anticipated when I began this process. Obviously I still have a little time left in this 2019 and I want to continue to grow and learn all I can about this process, but so far it has been one of the most positive experiences in my life! Reach out to me via social media or email about your growth journey of 2019 because I am so genuinely curious!
