It’s Wonder{FALL}

This past weekend marked the first day of fall. If you know me at all, you know that I love the fall season. There isn’t much better than waking up on a cool, crisp morning and drinking a hot cup of coffee, while admiring the beautiful colors surrounding you. Also, there is simply so many fun things to do during fall!

What all can you do, you ask? Well, allow me to show you!

This photo was taken in October 2017 at the U.S.S. Sachem near Northern Kentucky.

Y’all know the first point I’m going to discuss is hiking. As I have mentioned in previous posts, hiking is one of my favorite activities, especially during the fall season. When you spend time in nature during fall, you are able to admire all of the beautiful colors of red, yellow, and green without sweating so much. This fall, make it a goal to take at least one good hike. Pick a tall mountain, motivate yourself to make it to the top, and take in the amazing view. Breathe in the fresh, crisp air.

Black Gold Festival (Hazard, KY) 2018.

Disclaimer: I have already attended one local festival this year. In case you were wondering, I had a wonder{full} time! Festivals are one of my favorite fall activities. You see so many people, can ride rides, eat funnel cakes and drink lemonade, play games, and listen to live bands. What’s not to love? Find your local festival this year and go! Actually… find a few local festivals and go. Each one has a unique aspect and it’s interesting to experience that. For example, my hometown (Hazard, KY) has a festival called Black Gold. This festival is hosted in honor of coal mining as that it the area that brought money into our location for years.

Pumpkin Patches

Baldwin Farms, Richmond, KY. 2017.

You’re lying if you say that you don’t enjoy going to pumpkin patches… unless you’ve never been. If you haven’t gone to a pumpkin patch yet, you need to make a plan to visit this year! It’s a great experience. Spend the day wearing warm sweaters and walking through the beautiful pumpkin patch. Some pumpkin patches even offer activities like a maze and hay rides, which are perfect for kids and adults! At the end of the day, you can purchase a pumpkin to take home and carve.

Carving Pumpkins

I have plenty of pumpkin carving photos, but I chose the one above because that was the best pumpkin I ever carved. You can see how proud I am by the smile on my face. This year, after visiting a local pumpkin patch, find friends and/or family to do this activity with! It can be a little gross sometimes, but it is a very fun activity and is necessary when preparing for Halloween!

Binge Eat Sweets

Candy apples. Pumpkin rolls. Pumpkin spice. Peanut butter rolls. Need I say more? During the fall season, take advantage of sweet treats! By the way, where do you all land on the debate regarding candy corn? Good or bad? Personally, I like it! Candy corn is a trademark for Halloween. Also, make sure you enjoy some “spookies” during this season (spooky cookies).

Happy Fall!

These are only a few activities that you can look forward to during the fall season! I hope that each of you enjoys this season. Let me know if there is something you do during this season that I didn’t mention! I would love to try something new, too. Happy Fall, y’all!
